by Kathern Smith

Base: 8"
Height: 4 1/2"

Materials:
8" x 13" Towel Handle
3/16," 3/8," 5/8" flat reed
1/4" flat, dyed
2" ash
1/2" flat/oval
seagrass

Spokes:
Cut from 5/8" flat - 5 spokes, 16" long

Base:
Place all 5 spokes in the narrow slit above pegs. Bend spokes evenly, and clothespin together about halfway between base and top of spokes. Weave the first two rows before removing clothespins.

Since it is a wall basket, you can start and stop all rows on the back side.

Weave sides:
3 rows - 3/8" flat
1 row 1/4" flat, dyed
1 row - 2" ash
1 row - 1/4" flat, dyed
2 rows - 3/8" flat

You can weave any combination up the sides. It should be about 4 1/2" high.

Fold and tuck outside spokes. Cut off inside spokes. Wrap the rim with 1/2" flat/oval, using seagrass for filler. Lash with 3/16" flat.
